"I want a nice painting." This collection of Life, Passion, and Paint writing's focusses on play. When painting, the artist usually has something in mind; however, there's a possibility that the particular painitng might not quite pan out. It is so important to just revert back to child-like thinking when playing with paint. Remember when you were 5? Painting wa so fun when we were 5, so why can't it be now as adults? As adults we focus on the end result rather than the process. We focus on how "ugly" our artwork is- no artwork is ugly. Artwork is a representation of what we're thinking, feeling, or envisioning, that's why it is so important to play and see where your hands guide your brush. Don't think about it - just do it! Since I always connect art education with general education, I'll do that briefly. I think that in general education the same theory can be applied to revert back to the basics when struggling. Remember the foundation that you learned years ago, and apply it to your current situation.
